Two years ago today, I jumped in a car with a friend I had really only hung out with a couple of times & headed to Round Top, Texas. Between hours and hours of walking, getting lost (and I mean....like headed the completely wrong direction kind of lost), misplacing my husbands truck in one of those random fields, and eating mexican food at a complete dive on the way home - I found far more than just someone who shared a common creativity, love for unique finds, and good design. I found a friend with grit. Someone who wasn't afraid to tell me she loved something....or really hated it. Who is always willing to challenge my way of thinking or redirect me towards Jesus - even if I don't necessarily like it. Who isn't afraid to ask hard questions and dive into lengthy conversations about that messy place you haven't quite figured out with the Lord. She was the beginning to an answered prayer that I had prayed for over three years - that God, in His kindness, would surround me with women who were bold, and honest, and fearless, yet kind, loyal and faithful.
The last two years have held some of my favorite memories - many of which include this family. It's hard to even imagine life without Ellie Kate around. That little girl has no idea how blessed she is to have been entrusted to Drew and Christine! It's a joy & a huge blessing to get a front row seat to watch and learn from them as parents.
So here's to two years of friendship & so so many more to come!
